According to preliminary statistics from the China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association, China's phosphorus fertilizer production in 2023 increased by 6.1% compared to the previous year. The production of DAP and MAP increased by 9.9% and 2.3% respectively compared to the previous year. The domestic supply of phosphorus fertilizer and compound fertilizer is sufficient, effectively supporting the needs of agricultural production.

In terms of exports, the total export volume has increased compared to the previous year, but it is still lower than the pre epidemic level. In 2023, China exported a total of 4.17 million tons of various phosphorus compound fertilizers, an increase of 26% compared to the previous year. Among them, the cumulative export of ammonium phosphate reached 5.04 million tons in physical form, an increase of 41% compared to the previous year; The export of MAP remained basically unchanged from the previous year.

High concentration phosphate fertilizer remains the main force in phosphate fertilizer production, and new types of phosphate fertilizers have also been developed quickly. The production capacity of new fertilizers with high nutrient efficiency, functionality, and specificity is growing rapidly, and their proportion is constantly increasing. The proportion of new fertilizer products from leading compound fertilizer enterprises increased from 34.5% in 2019 to 42.2% in 2023, an increase of 7.7 percentage points.
